Golden Dragon

Painting Competition

2000

In 2000 the Golden Dragon took place on the weekend following Easter.  The Golden Dragon was again sponsored by Toyworld Gympie, thanks to Roger and Lorraine Broadly for their help and support to get the golden Dragon off the ground. We also moved the Golden Dragon to a new Location.  The golden Dragon was held at the Gympie RSL in their function room, The Orchid Room.  This provided modern comfortable facilities and the much needed room for the Golden Dragon.  Again we associated with the Dragonplayers Gamming Club from Gympie.   You can find links and contact information to this club in the links section.  In 2000 we provided more gamming tables than every before.

The Golden Dragon is not just a painting competition, although that is the main event.  It is also an opportunity for gamming enthusiast to congregate and enjoy all aspects of our hobby.  You are welcome to bring along your armies to play, scenery to use, please bear in mind that armies or miniatures entered in the competition cannot be used during the day.

In the three year history we have been successful in almost or doubling our entries each year.  in 2000 we managed an unfortunately small amount of 65 entries.
